Prof. Dr. Werner Plumpe Prof Dr Werner Plumpe has been Professor of economic and social history at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main since 1999, He studied in Bochum at the Ruhr University where he habilitated in 1994.
In 1998, he was visiting professor at Keio University in Tokyo.
His research interests are in the field of universal economic and social history of the modern times, the history of industrial relations and the history of the economic thought and theories.
Memberships et al.: he is chair of the scientific advisory council of GUG (Gesellschaft für Unternehmensgeschichte / Society for corporate history), Member of the historical commission of the Bavarian academy of sciences (Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften) from 2008 to 2012 he was Chairman of the Association of Historians of Germany (VHD)
