 Kerstin Andreae Kerstin Andreae was born in Schramberg, 21 October 1968. She studied economics at the
Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg.
After having received her diploma in 1996, she worked as a project manager at the agency
for Health and Cure Technologies, MediKur in Hamm, at the Social Science Research Institute
on Gender Issues at the Protestant University Freiburg as well as for “Das grüne Emissionshaus”,
a financial services provider in the area of wind power in Freiburg.
From 1999 to 2002, Ms Andreae was member of the Municipal Council of Freiburg. In 2002,
Ms Andreae was elected Member of the German Bundestag for the constituency of Freiburg.
From 2002 to 2007, Ms Andreae was Member of the Finance Committee and spokesperson
for local politics of the Alliance 90/The Greens Parliamentary Group. From 2007 to 2012, she
acted as economic policy spokesperson.
From 2012 to 2017, Ms Andreae was elected vice-chair to the parliamentary group, responsible
for coordinating the areas of economic, fiscal, financial, labour and social policy.
In 2017, Ms Andreae became economic policy spokesperson of the Alliance 90/The Greens
Parliamentary Group. She was founder and coordinator of the Wirtschaftsbeirat, the economic
advisory council to the parliamentary group.
Since 1 November 2019, Ms Andreae has been the Chairwoman of the General Executive
Management Board of BDEW.
Ms Andreae is married and has three children. She lives in Berlin.
